Merging Accounts
When you add a phone number in your account settings that already belongs to another Poke account, Poke will take you to a screen titled "This phone number is already in use". This lets you combine both accounts into one.
How to Combine
Add your phone number
Go to your account settings and enter the phone number you want to use. You'll receive a verification code via text - enter it to confirm.
You'll see both accounts
If the number belongs to another Poke account, a screen appears showing both accounts side by side - your current one and the one linked to that phone number. Each shows its name and when it was created so you can tell them apart.
Pick the account to keep and tap Keep
Tap the account you want to hold onto, then tap Keep. This keeps Poke's Memory, Recipes, and Integrations from the selected account, and your messaging channels (Apple Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.) and phone number will be connected to it. The other account's data is deleted after 30 days.
Common Questions
- Don't see an option to merge your other account? This may be because your other account was created through Telegram or LINE and doesn't have a phone number attached. The merge will trigger once both accounts share a phone number.
- Don't know how to log into an account? Ask Poke for a link to log in.
- Don't recognize the other account? It was probably created automatically when someone first texted Poke from your number. Just keep your current account.
- Link expired or invalid? Go back to your account settings, re-enter the phone number, and verify it again to get a new link.
